RFK Jr’s rising bipartisan popularity despite constant slander from any mainstream media covering him indicates that America is not as polarized as the mainstream media would have you believe once you look past culture-war issues. Among all voters, he is in a statistical tie (at around 35%) with Joe Biden as the preferred candidate of the Democratic Party, as seen below from the well-known polling organization, Rasmussen Reports.

He is the only candidate I’ve seen that is drawing enthusiastic support from both self-described socialists and self-described libertarians – polar opposites on the political spectrum. According to his campaign website, his top priorities are as follows:

  • Honest Government
  • Reconciliation
  • Environment
  • Revitalization
  • Peace
  • Civil Liberties

As seen on the cover photo of this article, Joe Biden’s website doesn’t list any campaign issues. His first campaign video is a mix of fear porn (manipulating people by appealing to their fears) and ever-too-familiar platitudes, devoid of any new ideas or meaningful accomplishments during his first term. His slogan is “Let’s Finish The Job,” but he has yet to define the specifics of that job publicly and concisely.

Inflation is up, the dollar is losing its status as the world reserve currency, there is no believable vision the American people can buy into, and Biden hasn’t even put forth an effort to sell a dream. His visible cognitive decline is the icing on the cake and erodes faith in anyone suggesting the dotard who has brought us closer to WW3 than any time in recent history deserves a second term. As seen below, he is also losing in the polls to former Reality TV Star and US President Donald Trump.

RFK Jr’s campaign represents the antithesis of Biden’s. Trust in governments and the media is lower than ever, and his top priority is literally “Honest Government.” As the nephew of the most popular US President of all time (as measured by the number of statues of him erected globally), RFK Jr picked up where his Uncle and Father left off with honest government by doing the following:

  • Holding captured regulators and polluters accountable throughout his career as an environmental lawyer
  • Being the first Kennedy on record to say the quiet part out loud: the CIA killed his uncle – the sitting President of the time, John F. Kennedy
  • Putting big pharma and their captured regulatory agencies’ feet to the fire through his work on vaccine safety
  • Fearlessly calling out the military-industrial complex

The entire tone of his campaign is unique – usually, political candidates use demonization of the other side as a critical part of their campaign strategy. Under his priority, “Reconciliation”, the Kennedy website explains:

“America is more polarized and divided now than at any time in living memory. Both sides seem to agree that the basic problem is the horrible people on the other side. Both sides are wrong. The basic problem is the division itself. A divided public lacks the strength to resist exploitation or to overcome the inertia of the status quo. The classic American can-do spirit exhausts itself in endless battles. So let’s heal the divide.” (1)

Though this sounds like common sense, as stated above, many people are being misled by divisive politicians with the same donors retaining power through a divide-and-conquer strategy. Bernie Sanders attracted some of the same energy by speaking about populist solutions and his relatively consistent record as a socialist to the left of the Democratic Party. RFK Jr takes it one step further by focusing on the power structures preventing us from fixing the country’s problems.

As an example, most Republicans and Democrats would say they are in favor of controlling the country’s borders (knowing who’s coming in and out), and having a sensible immigration policy that grows our economy by bringing in people who can contribute to the country. However, handling the border crisis has become one of the most divisive issues – many Democrats call Republicans racist for demanding solutions they see as extreme, and Republicans accuse Democrats of being unrealistic idealists pushing for open borders. On May 3rd, Kennedy tweeted the following:

The most crucial aspect of the immigration crisis is rarely discussed: Why are so many people so desperate in the first place to leave their homes and countries behind for an uncertain future? The answer is uncomfortable. In large part, it is U.S. policies that create desperate conditions south of the border. The War on Drugs is one [of] US-funded dictators, juntas, paramilitaries, and death squads. Neoliberal extraction of resources. Unpayable debts. It is inhumane and hypocritical to deny immigration while creating the conditions that drive immigration. As President, I will change these policies. That’s the only long-term solution to the border crisis. #Kennedy24” – Twitter: @RobertKennedyJr

His take exemplifies raw honesty – politicians usually argue about what to do when the refugees arrive without addressing our role in creating the unstable situations they’re fleeing. Though many people understand that politics is corrupt, they do not realize how bribery has been legalized nor the level of corporate capture suffered by government agencies. While many have suspicions about federal law enforcement agencies, a deep dive into the history of intelligence agencies reveals one of their functions seems to be serving as a blackmail operation controlling politicians and influential executives to advance the interest of the elite (as detailed in Whitney Webb’s fantastic book series, “One Nation Under Blackmail: The sordid union between Intelligence and Organized Crime that gave rise to Jeffrey Epstein”).

RFK Jr’s skyrocketing popularity should give everyone hope because it exemplifies truth as a unifying force. However, despite Biden’s abysmal poll numbers and approval ratings, the DNC has already announced it has no intentions to hold debates or a primary. Even if they did, a court case over the Bernie Sanders campaign recently proved the DNC has no obligation to respect the will of their voters in the primaries.

“On August 25, 2017, Federal Judge William Zloch, dismissed the lawsuit after several months of litigation during which DNC attorneys argued that the DNC would be well within their rights to select their own candidate. “In evaluating Plaintiffs’ claims at this stage, the Court assumes their allegations are true—that the DNC and Wasserman Schultz held a palpable bias in favor Clinton and sought to propel her ahead of her Democratic opponent,” the court order dismissing the lawsuit stated.” (2)

The DNC will be forced to hold a primary if public outcry is large enough. If not, we must realize that the solutions to our problems in this country and world lie outside the two-party system. Selecting the lesser of two evils and pushing for surface-level changes to laws will not solve the existential crises in the country. How power is distributed and exercised must be directly addressed before any systemic problems can be solved. In this interview, Ted Talk Presenter Max Rashbrooke, and I, discuss a few ways we can modernize democracy using the tools available to us.
