Many celebrities, including Billie Eilish, are using their platforms to influence and persuade their fans to live a healthier lifestyle.

Eilish, who is 20-years-old, switched to veganism at 12 after learning and seeing the cruelty behind the dairy and meat industry. Prior to that incident, the “Bad Guy” vocalist was a vegetarian.

During Eilish’s Los Angeles stop of her “Happier Than Ever” tour, the singer’s mother, Maggie Baird, encouraged concert-goers to eat more plant-based foods in a pre-recorded video.

In the clip, Baird talks about her nonprofit organization, Support + Feed. According to its site, the company’s mission is to “take action for a global shift to an equitable, plant-based food system to combat food insecurity and the climate crisis.”

When Support+Feed first started in 2020 following the global pandemic, the main goal was to supply first responders and others with plant-based meals. Since then, the organization has turned into a nonprofit working to further the consumption of plant-based diets.

Support + Feed is currently encouraging individuals to eat one plant-based meal a day for the next 30 days as part of their latest campaign. Many can join by signing up for the pledge via text

During the recording at Eilish’s concert, Baird said, “I know that you know that Billie and her whole family are very concerned about climate change, and I know you are too. By taking a pledge to eat at least one plant-based meal a day for 30 days, you will help save the planet.”

Eilish has partnered with Support + Feed and Wicked Kitchen, a vegan food brand. This partnership will result in Baird’s company receiving a donation of 100,000 plant-based meals.

In conclusion, reducing meat consumption will significantly affect our planet. Animal agriculture is one of the many contributing factors to climate crises. The effects include deforestation, greenhouse gas emissions, and water waste.
