Cajun Style Banana Blossom Sandwich

Ingredients
  

  • 1 box of Banana Blossom from Upton’s Naturals @uptonsnaturals
  • Marinade
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp nori flakes or blending nori
  • 1/2 tsp thyme leaves
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • Wet Batter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup soda water or water
  • 2 TBSP Vegan Egg
  • 2 Tsp Old Bay Seasoning
  • Dry Batter
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 3 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • Roasted Red Bell Pepper Sauce
  • 1 cup vegan mayo
  • 1/4 cup roasted bell pepper
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp granulated garlic
  • Salt to Taste

Additional Ingredients

  • Sandwich Bread or Buns
  • Steak Fries
  • Pickles
  • Chopped Lettuce

Instructions
 

  • Marinate Banana Blossom for 3-4 hours. Overnight if possible. The longer, the more flavor, and it breaks down the texture to make it softer.
  • Dip Banana Blossom in the dry batter.
  • Dip Banana Blossom in the wet batter.
  • Fry or air fry.
  • Mix roasted red bell pepper sauce ingredients with a spoon in a bowl.
  • Build your sandwich and enjoy!
