Today at Ascension Media Club we are featuring Instagram user @turnipvegan‘s recipe for Cajun Style Banana Blossom Sandwich.

Cajun Style Banana Blossom Sandwich
Ingredients
- 1 box of Banana Blossom from Upton’s Naturals @uptonsnaturals
- Marinade
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp nori flakes or blending nori
- 1/2 tsp thyme leaves
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- Wet Batter
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup soda water or water
- 2 TBSP Vegan Egg
- 2 Tsp Old Bay Seasoning
- Dry Batter
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- 3 tsp Cajun seasoning
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- Roasted Red Bell Pepper Sauce
- 1 cup vegan mayo
- 1/4 cup roasted bell pepper
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika seasoning
- 1/2 tsp granulated garlic
- Salt to Taste
Additional Ingredients
- Sandwich Bread or Buns
- Steak Fries
- Pickles
- Chopped Lettuce
Instructions
- Marinate Banana Blossom for 3-4 hours. Overnight if possible. The longer, the more flavor, and it breaks down the texture to make it softer.
- Dip Banana Blossom in the dry batter.
- Dip Banana Blossom in the wet batter.
- Fry or air fry.
- Mix roasted red bell pepper sauce ingredients with a spoon in a bowl.
- Build your sandwich and enjoy!
